Tall Tales Goes Glacial on July 25 with WCW Legends Glacier & Johnny Swinger

Tall Tales, presented by the Sellers Law Firm, LLC, goes glacial in July as it heads to the slammer with WCW superstar GLACIER & WCW/ECW/TNA superstar Johnny Swinger, LIVE in The Watchtower at Jailhouse Brewery in Hampton, Georgia July 25th, 2019.

Housed in the old city jail of Hampton, Ga., Jailhouse Brewing opened its doors in 2009 as the 4th production brewery in the state. Built in the early 1900’s, the old city jail operated until the mid-seventies. Today with 16 beers available on draft, a fun outdoor space, tours, and a listening room, Jailhouse Brewing produces over 2,500 barrels per year in just a 1,500 sq ft building where they stay true to their saying.. “We believe in the little man, small towns and big flavor.”

*Special Guest: “Glacier”
Making his pro wrestling debute in the late ’80s, Ray Lloyd, a Georgia native, received the most heavily hyped debut in sports-entertainment history when he emerged in pro wrestling’s WCW in 1996 as “Glacier” — a coldblooded kung-fu master from Japan’s Shorinji Temple.

“Glacier” brought the video game Mortal Kombat to life arriving with an entrance so elaborate that it featured lasers and fake snow, he went on to brawl with Goldberg, appear in video games and see his image plastered across toy cars and T-shirts.

With Ted Turner’s billions behind him, WCW went all out with the Glacier concept, hiring a special effects studio to create elaborate ring gear and an entrance rumored to have cost six figures to produce.

In addition to his appearances on WCW’s Monday Night Nitro, Thunder, movie rolls in “Blood Bath”, he has appeared in, Ray has also had roles in hit television shows like “Burn Notice” and “Meet the Browns” and oversees production for Maus Media Group, a Florida-based advertising and marketing agency.

*Johnny Swinger
Joe Dorgan, also know as “Johnny Swinger”, debuted as a professional wrestler in 1993 and soon began working for Vince McMahon on WWF’s RAW. He then signed with WCW and started appearing on WCW Saturday Night, WCW World Wide, Thunder, and WCW Monday NITRO during its highest rated period. Swinger also worked for ECW and TNA where he was a NWA World Tag Team Champion before returning to WWE and appearing on Sunday Night Heat as Johnny Parisi.

Outside of the ring Johnny Swinger has appeared in the movies “The Wronged Man”, and the horrior flicks “Ultimate Death Match 2” & 3.

Tall Tales’ Creator Timothy Gonzalez and WCW/ECW/TNA/WWE Legend RAVEN Join Wrestlezone’s Kevin Kellam to Discuss AEW, Comedy, and Tall Tales

Tall Tales’ creator and host, comedian Timothy Gonzalez, recently sat down with Tall Tales headliner and former WCW/ECW/TNA/WWE superstar Raven to discuss AEW, comedy, and the Tall Tales show with Wrestlezone.

From Wrestlezone:

“Wrestling legend Raven recently spoke to WrestleZone’s Kevin Kellam on a variety of professional wrestling topics. Raven was asked if the business is starting to feel how it used to during his heyday given all the current big promotions and groups around. He also discussed All Elite Wrestling (AEW) and what the promotion has that separates them from the pack, and what other promotions are lacking.

Does the business feel like it used to during his heyday with all of the current big promotions and groups around:

“I think it will once AEW gets on TV. It hadn’t, without somebody else having the national slot on a powerhouse station, it was never going to be the same. But now with AEW going on TNT, I think it’s really going to crank things up.”

What does AEW have that separates them from the pack:

“Youth. They’re not relying on a bunch of guys that have been on top for 20 years. Not that WWE is either—you have the younger guys that are going to be behind the scenes as well, they’re going to be willing to listen. Let me re-phrase this. The youth behind the scene means new ideas, fresh ideas, young ideas. Obviously, they’re going to have some veterans there for psychology reasons. It’s gonna have a more—it’s gonna have a flavor you’re not gonna have in a company that’s run by guys that are much much older, who don’t interact with pop culture as much.”

Do other promotions not have their finger on the pulse the way AEW does

“I don’t watch current wrestling, but I [keep up enough] with it. I think that’s been the big problem with wrestling always, is they don’t keep up with what’s current. That’s why Paul E [Heyman] was such a great booker because he understood what was popular and zeitgeist. He was able to use that and correlate that and make his stuff seem so trendy, but in wrestling, generally, people behind-the-scenes are in a bubble. They’re in a wrestling bubble, just like politicians are in a bubble and they only see the political lens.”

See Raven with comedian Tim Gonzalez and fellow wrestling veteran Johnny Swinger as they tell TALL TALES live at Doc Holiday’s Saloon in Griffin, GA on Thursday, May 30. Proceeds will benefit Operation Lunchbox, which helps children in need get extra meals around their school lunches. (Wrestlezone).”
